A model of the core module of China's Tianhe space station is to be exhibited at the 12th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition in Zhuhai, Guangdong, on Nov 6-11, the China Manned Space Agency said.

据中国载人航天工程办公室消息，我国“天河”号空间站核心舱（core module of China's Tianhe space station）将首次以1:1实物形式（工艺验证舱）参加第十二届中国航展，这是我国空间站工程首次对公众开放（this is the first time China's space station program is being shown to the public）。
据中国载人航天工程办公室主任郝淳介绍，中国空间站额定乘员3人，乘组轮换时最多可达6人，基本构型包括一个核心舱和两个实验舱（lab module），每个舱段规模20吨级。核心舱包括节点舱（connecting section）、生活控制舱（life-support and control section）和资源舱（resources section）三部分，有3个对接口（docking hatch）和2个停泊口（berthing location）。对接口用于载人飞船、货运飞船（cargo spacecraft）等飞行器访问空间站，停泊口用于两个实验舱与核心舱连接，另有一个出舱口供航天员出舱活动（astronauts' extravehicular activities）。
核心舱轴向长度16.6米，大柱段直径4.2米，小柱段直径2.8米，主要用于空间站的统一控制和管理（unified control and management of the space station），以及航天员生活，具备长期自主飞行（long-term autonomous flight）能力，能够支持航天员长期驻留，支持开展航天医学和空间科学实验（space science experiment）。
郝淳表示，目前载人航天工程全线正在全面开展空间站研制建设，各主要系统均在按计划进行初样（prototype）研制，核心舱将于今年年底转入正样研制阶段。按计划，2022年前后，我国空间站将完成在轨组装建造（assembly and construction），开始全面运行。
