单音节形容词不能用more构成比较级吗
有这样一道题，该选 B 还是 C？
—I think he is wise.

此题应选C。容易误选B。误选的理由主要是认为 brave为单音节形容词，一定要用-er构成比较级。
要解决这个问题，要先从比较句型的两种不同类型说起。如：
1. 异类同质比较
所谓“异类同质比较”，指的是两个不同的人或事物(异类)在同一方面(同质)进行比较：
He is fatter than his wife. 他比他妻子胖。
He is braver than you. 他比你勇敢。
This book is more interesting than that one. 这本书比那本书更有趣。
What he says is more important than this. 他说的比这更重要。
2. 同类异质比较
所谓“同类异质比较”，指的是同一个人或事物(同类)在两个不同的方面(异质)进行比较(注意译文)。如：
They are more brave than wise. 他们有勇无谋。
He’s more fat than short. 与其说他矮，不如说他胖。
He is more good than bad. 与其说他是个坏蛋，不如说他是个好人。
注意：同类异质比较，只能用more构成比较级，不能用-er形式。另外，这类结构有时可补充出被省略的主语和谓语。如：
He is more fat than short.
＝He is more fat than he is short.
